Experience

With a passion for guiding individuals towards comprehensive well-being, I bring over a decade of diverse experience to my therapeutic practice.

My previous clinical work as a therapist includes providing psychotherapy to adults of all ages, adolescents, and children. My trauma-informed practices have been in crisis intervention while aiding survivors of violence and trauma. I have additionally worked with individuals facing addiction and mental health struggles.

Living and working in New York City has given me the opportunity to connect with clients from all cultural, racial, ethnic, religious backgrounds as well as gender and sexual identities. I look forward to bringing this breadth of experience and compassionate approach to our therapeutic journey together.

I offer telehealth appointments for individual therapy sessions via HIPAA-compliant Zoom.

The Moonlit Mind

The moon has always been a personal symbol of mine for strength and rejuvenation. I have been struck by the numerous symbolic connections of the moon to the therapeutic process.

There is simple yet salient symbolism in a person being lost on a dark night but having the moon to guide their way and illuminate their path. We all encounter emotional darkness at times. Being able to rely on the moon as a guide and constant light provides reassurance in times of uncertainty.

The moon also reflects the light of the sun, which is too bright to look at with the naked eye, and shows us this same light in a different, softer context. This reminds me of the therapeutic process of gently leading a client to be able to endure a challenging or difficult insight about something in their lives.

Moonlight is silver, soft, and calming. I believe the moon has a restorative and soothing effect which is ideally what therapy can provide as well.

My given name, Aili, is an Estonian name which means “bearer of light.” In my therapy practice, I strive to reflect a constant, soothing light for you to find your way out of darkness.
